Hand of the Creator
The main strength and fundamental difference between AI and a living artist is its complete absence of fear and doubt in the creative process. Artificial intelligence is not bound by the time in which it exists, it does not care about its self-image, and it is unafraid of making mistakes.
But what is art? Is it a visual and conceptual reflection of the artist’s inner world? Or does it also encompass the process of bringing an idea to life — and the creative struggles that precede it?
How do we determine whether assigning a task to AI can be considered an artistic act? And if these works are a kind of digital manifestation of the ready-made, how long will this phenomenon last, and how will it influence the artist’s desire to create?
There are too many questions and too few answers, precisely because it is impossible to predict how far AI-generated visuals will spread. They may become just another branch of digital art — or they may replace it entirely, fueled by humanity’s constant desire to simplify life, to escape empirical reflection and existential torment.
The "Hand of the Creator" project is my personal attempt to understand this.
